DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING

As Director, Engineering at a disruptive, early-stage SaaS business in the Property Tech / Clean Tech space, you will collaborate with the product, development and customer advocate teams to deliver on our current and future product roadmap.  Our engineering team works on challenging product and data-focused problems daily. The buildee platform is built to quickly identify and deliver substantial energy efficiency gains in existing commercial buildings domestically and internationally. We have a roll up your sleeves, work-hard, play-hard, collaborative culture that’s built around a mission to reduce greenhouse emissions and drive substantial energy efficiency gains among Utilities and Commercial Real Estate owners through use of our intelligent software platform.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with talented engineers, designers, and product managers to build, ship, and improve our core products
  • Planning, high-level estimation, and requirement analysis working with a product manager, engineers, and designers
  • Lead, mentor and grow a team of cross-functional in-house and outsourced engineers including hiring and performance review
  • Review code and provide technical mentorship to engineers
  • Assess the technical risk and assist in the creation of specifications
  • Coordinate with the team to give technical leadership and achieve sprint goals
  • Provide coding help at all levels and all points of the development cycle, as well as providing technical guidance to team members
  • Manage the tasks, budget, delivery dates, quality of internal and external development resources
  • Maintain and audit code quality as per set guidelines and standards
  • Establish an agile resource pool to achieve delivery dates and critical milestones
  • Deliver modern, testable, and maintainable application code
  • Write best-in-class code to supplement existing resources or to hit a delivery time-line

What’s needed:

  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • 2+ years of team leadership experience
  • Genuine passion for leading and mentoring others
  • Full-stack experience in building highly scalable SaaS applications
  • 3+ years of recent experience with development using JavaScript, Ruby or Python, and, ideally React or back-end development using NodeJS
  • Working knowledge of enterprise software integrations

FIELD ENGINEER (NYC-BASED)

The buildee team is looking for a NYC-based Field Engineer who is a deep domain expert in the energy efficiency space. Your primary role will be to ensure customer success on the buildee platform while working with engineers, program managers and sales. Your responsibilities include onboarding/training clients, attending weekly and bi-weekly meetings with strategic customers and partners, being the field product expert and voice of the customer and NYC market. This position will report directly to the COO with dotted line reporting to the VP of Sales.

The buildee NYC Field Engineer will need to possess an in-depth knowledge of building efficiency and and present this knowledge to technical and  non-technical customers alike.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead field advocate and product expert for clients and buildee.
  • Ensure customer requirements are gathered and prioritized.
  • Attend team meetings with NYC government agencies and represent buildee and its product deliverables.
  • Prepare and develop technical presentations to explain our company’s products and services to customers.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
  • Research, develop, and modify products to meet customers’ technical requirements and needs.
  • Solicit and log client feedback and evaluating the data to create new sales and marketing strategies to target customers.
  • Identify areas for improvement and communicating to product development and management.
  • Train other members of the sales team on the technical aspects of the company’s products and services.

What’s Needed:

  • NYC area (work in 5 boroughs).
  • 5 years experience in commercial building energy efficiency.
  • Ability to navigate public and private sector clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree in – Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental – Engineering preferred (ideally with focus on building sciences).
  • Experience in sales and/or customer support and training.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and sales skills.
  • Ability to relate technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Great leadership and demonstrated team-based successes.
  • Ability to work independently while taking direction from leadership.

SALES DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE

As a Sales Development Rep at a disruptive, early-stage SaaS business in the Property Tech / Clean Tech space, you will help generate and facilitate sales of our software platform. You will initiate contact with potential customers through outbound prospecting activity, or you may respond to inbound inquiries. You will identify the potential needs of the customer, qualify their interest and viability, and create a relationship that will help drive the sale.  Once you have generated a solid lead, you will connect the lead to a salesperson. Your duties also involve following up with leads who expressed interest but have not purchased.  Ultimately, your end goal is to expand our customer base.

  • Maintain a self-starter attitude while creating outreach strategies for new lead generation methods
  • Anticipate needs by studying services and conducting market research to identify new leads
  • Support senior sales teams and sales representatives on outbound strategies and lead generating efforts
  • Engage with prospects while handling the introductions and follow-up with the sales representatives
  • Be the first point of contact for new business prospects and advance them in the sales process
  • Drive active communication and engagement with prospects to create sales qualified leads
  • Facilitate seamless hand-off of a qualified lead to an account executive or the appropriate salesperson
  • Collaborate with the sales team and bring innovative lead generation ideas forward to the team
  • Gather and communicate market intelligence to the team

DATA ANALYST

As Data Analyst at a disruptive, early-stage SaaS business in the Property Tech / Clean Tech space, you will collaborate with the product, development and customer advocate teams to ensure quality data across our platform. You will work with management and our development team to ensure data seamlessly integrates into our core product, satisfying market needs as identified by our product team. Our data team works on challenging product and data-focused problems daily.

The buildee platform is built to quickly identify and deliver substantial energy efficiency gains in existing commercial buildings domestically and internationally. We have a roll-up-your-sleeves, collaborative culture that’s built around a mission to reduce greenhouse emissions and drive substantial energy efficiency gains among Utilities and Commercial Real Estate owners through use of our intelligent software platform.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with talented engineers, designers, and product managers to build, ship, and improve our core products

  • Generate summaries of large datasets
  • Scrape data from a variety of online resources
  • Create database schemas to satisfy product needs
  • Manage the data pipeline for ingesting a wide variety of data
  • Collaborate closely with development team to ensure smooth integration between data and our core product
  • General scripting and automation for data manipulation
  • Testing, QA, and debugging; ensuring data quality

What’s needed:

  • At least 1 year of general Python experience
  • Experience scraping data using Python
  • Familiarity with structured and non-structured databases
  • Proficient in querying large datasets
  • Well-developed problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills, positive attitude, empathetic and collaborative
